I love so much about Ms Hadley's writing and the worlds she brings to life.The characters she creates are so well developed and they remain internally consistent. Some I love, some I hate and most are just flawed individuals like the rest of us. It makes for delicious reading.I found the plot to be engrossing. The editing is perfect. The steam factor is off the charts. The book doesn’t end on a cliffhanger. So why only 3 stars?I really dislike MM in my romances. I don't know any other way to say it. I'm not bothered by sexual orientations that are different than mine IRL. But that doesn't mean that I want to read about them in my down time. I want something that I can relate to when I'm reading to escape. Yes, I know that this book is about a RH; let's just go with DADT.The blurb didn’t mention that this book includes MM, MMF and MMFM. I have noticed that many of my favorite authors have begun to include more and more MM and I'm not sure why they're making that change.I love so much about this series so far but I just don't know if I can continue reading it. I've been ensnared by what Auryn's created and I'm so torn because of that.In any case, thank you Ms Hadley for making your books available to KU readers. OMG from the moment my pre-ordered title hit my kindle I could not put the book down and read through the night to get my fix of Auryn’s writing!Auryn has taken us from a ten year old heroine to a ~20 year old woman who is foraging her own path despite the majority of people in the temple being initially against her. She is slowly but surely making a difference and changing people to her side with the help of her family and her god. The character development is on point and you can really feel the trials that the group go through and can only look back on the events Auryn has written with awe that she has put something so seamless together. I’m waiting on the edge of my seat for the story to continue in book 3... waiting to see what else Zeal, the temple, and Nari herself have in store!As a note to anyone reading through the comments, for the time I pick up any of Auryns work til the time I put it down, I am not longer on earth as I know it but on whatever miraculous world Auryn has crafted with her words. She is able to build such complex worlds and characters without making the reader work for the understanding. She has been my go-to author for years to escape life and dive into a fantasy world. This series, while unfinished, is quickly becoming one of my favorite series ever of hers (or just in general) and I highly recommend anyone giving it a try!
